Random bits of medical school wisdom: Very Important Persons get worse medical care, not better, because the doc is tempted to avoid things that might be unpleasant, like, say, doing a rectal exam, but would otherwise be standard. Probably not quite so true in the hospitals that get used to such clients, but still. If you have a process, go ahead and use that process unless there's a good reason not to use it. "I feel like I know her well" isn't a reason to abandon the process, it's a reason to go above and beyond the process.
I mean, I knew guys from Harvard were idiots, but I didn't know it was this bad.
