There's a meme going around, that was started at Searchlight Crusade, asking you to think strategically, not tactically, and several blogs have answered. So far, JohnL's is my favorite, by far. I wouldn't even add any GLBT specific issues to it- #3 (Opposing Religious Fundamentalism) and #7 (Shrinking the Nanny State) are sufficient for me.
He only did eight. Two more might be:
1) Is the US the only global superpower? If not, why not? If so, what abilities does that give us in foreign policy? How long is this state likely to last? Is there anything that would prolong or shorten this state?
2) The internet. In an Information Economy, perhaps as important as a road system. For generation Y, it has made the anchorman reading the national news for 30 minutes as useless as the buggy whip. For totalitarian states, it may be both a huge wealth generating vehicle and their greatest enemy. How can we help it continue to grow, largely free of government interference? Can we keep various states, most currently problematic China, from using it in ways that go beyond anything from 1984?
I'm also interested in seeing The AnarchAngel's list.
