Puttering around, I come across this post at ArklahomBoy, then this post at Angry in the Great White North [I can take the post being somewhat tongue in cheek, but the comment
Homosexual couples invariably ape heterosexual couples with one of them playing the dominant "husband" and the other the submissive "wife".
So there'll be no confusion about which is which in the mind of the unfortunate kid who lives with such a couple.
takes the cake.
I give up. Time for karaoke at the gay bar again.

But after having lived in an apartment with a gay friend (and having his b/f over all the time), and getting to know my uncle's b/f better, I realize this is a fallacy perpetuated by the ignorant and the prejudice.
